Damascus welcomes cooperation with Russia to promote railway sector
The Syrian Minister of Transport Ali Hammoud said his country welcomed cooperation with Russian specialized companies to develop the railway sector in Syria and the level of establishing joint investments.
In an interview with Sputnik, Minister Hammoud said that contacts are underway for future cooperation between the Syrian Railways Corporation and the Russian Railway Company.
A source in the Russian company "Oral Vagon Zavod" expressed in an interview to Sputnik yesterday, that the company is interested in exporting freight carts for the railway network in Syria.
He added that "the railway sector in Syria is once again moving towards development and expansion to include the suburbs and all Syrian provinces, and the transition from industrial production and agricultural sites to the sites of consumption, export and shipping."
