Strengthening columns:
The columns are strengthened for one of the following reasons:

3- The reinforcing steel of the shaft is less than stipulated, either with specifications or engineering drawings for a mistake in the execution.

6- Corrosion of rebar in high proportions.
Restoration of the columns:
We resort to restoring the columns in the following cases:
1- The presence of effective cracks in the column.
2- The presence of rust in the rebar and drum in the concrete cover
3- The separation of the concrete cover.
4- The presence of nesting in the concrete of the column after the removal of hardness and stiffening requires us to make a concrete or iron shirt.
The shirt is a concrete body that wraps around the old concrete to reinforce the column
* But all studies confirm that shirts for the columns will not be an effective repair except by removing part of the pregnancy that exists before making the shirt, otherwise the old member will not transfer part of his pregnancy to the shirt and removing part of the pregnancy can be done in two ways:
1- Removing some walls and floors.
