The i-Road futuristic electric car

Toyota has unveiled its emission-free electric i-Road test vehicle, which embodies the vision of the Japanese company for future city cars.

Toyota explained that its small car is no more than one meter wide and includes three wheels and two seats installed behind each other, adding that its weight does not exceed three hundred kilograms thanks to its dependence on manufacturing it to a large extent in plastics.

The test vehicle is driven by two electric motors on the front wheels with a power of 2 kilowatts / 3 horsepower each, and they are fed with the energy needed to operate via a lithium ion battery, so the car can travel a distance of fifty kilometers, and launch at a maximum speed of 45 km / hour.

The concept of driving the "i-Road" test car is the most prominent characteristics that distinguish it, while the two front wheels are tilted by an electric mechanism against centrifugal force, the rear wheel is directed to the car, and thus the car's turn circle does not exceed three meters, giving the driver of the small car a sense of driving Motorcycle.

Toyota has yet to decide whether to expand the production of more of its small car, of which 45 copies have been produced so far.
